Z Gundam as most hardcore Gundam fans who have seen this series would say is it is most defenitley THE BEST GUNDAM SERIES EVER!!! Despite it's large cast of characters, everybody has an equal opportunity to have their spotlight and development. It tends to rely less on the old characters with the excemption of Char (as the bad ass Quattro) and Captain Bright. Z Gundam is one of those sequels that surpass it's own predecessor. Not only with characters but with story, originality, mechs, and of course the battles.

This is by far the best Gundam series, i have ever seen. I saw all the past series that came before. MSG 0079 was once my favorite, but Gundam Z destorys Gundam 0079. The sound quality is awesome, and sounds great if you have 5.1 surround sound. The video quality is good, kinda dark. The subtitles are a little wierd. The subs in the begining are every lacking, but in the middle there perfect right towards the end they lack in spelling names wrong. The Character design is awesome, Kamille Bidan is one interesting character, and I think the best Gundam hero ever. (TAKE THAT HEERO YUI) The story is unforgetable, it's darker than any gundam series I have seen. The Enjoyability is great, I love this story because i'm a huge Gundam freak and ROBOTECH(MACROSS) freak. But one warning. Gundam Z ending is amazing and you will have to buy Gundam ZZ, even though Gundam ZZ was a dispointment. But please check out this series PLEASE!! It's not worth to miss!

Quite possibly the greatest Gundam series ever created. Tomino goes into dark depths with this sorrowful story of a newtype ("The second coming of Amuro Rei" as Quattro calls it). The video is perfect (1985), and the sound is great. The subtitles begin in perfect English, with no problems whatsoever, and it continues this way throughout most of the show, but disk 6 is another story. If anyone has seen the Mobile Suit Gundam TV Box subs, it seems to have been done by the same people. Its still understandable, but its not as good as the previous 5 discs. It is completely obvious that when this boxset was created the subbers took fansubs (at the commercial break is says "Subtitled by Fans for Fans") for the first 40 episodes but the fansubs must not have been completed for the last disc and they needed to do it themselves. Don't let this discourage you. This is the greatest Gundam story ever made (In my opinion), and I'd even watch it without subtitles.

My favorite series, I recieved this set awhile ago, and I must say it's great. I gave the Sound Quality a perfect ten because I never found any muffled voices or anything like that. The video quality is good, the animation is low because it was made several years ago, but that doesn't effect it. I gave the subtitle quality a 8 because there are some miss-spellings and at times the subtitles timing are too quick, not giving you enough time to read them. The rest of the ratings recieved 10s because the characters were very cool (Kamille, "Quattro," etc), the story was great, and it's great to watch. I highly suggest watching the first series, Mobile Suit Gundam, before this, and maybe Gundam 0083 because Zeta takes place after it. This is a great series, possibly the best, and I think you'll like it too.

This is the sequel to the original mobile suit gundam series. It was a huge success when it first aired and is a fan favorite to this day. Everything people loved about the original gundam has been improved. More mechs, more action, and more drama. The only downside of this set is the subtitle quality on a few eps. Episodes 1, 5,43-46, and 49-50 had pretty poor subs (engrish and wrong names). However, every other episode was good quality. One last plus is the awesome gatefold packaging. The pics in the package and on the discs are very very nice. This is a highly recommended purchase!

Zeta Gundam is quite possibly the best Gundam series I have ever seen. Og course, I have not seen alot, but I'm on my way. Anyways, Sound Quality: Impeccable, I never once got any muffled sounds or lips moving but no voices. Video Quality: Once again, impeccable. I never had any screen flickers or any of the such. Subtitle Quality: Nearly perfect, there are a few misspellings here and there, but nothing you cannot make out. Character Design: Excellent, I cannot stress enough how great the character design is, it really makes you feel for a character whenever they are stressing out or about to die. Story Quality: Excellent, the story of Zeta Gundam is great, the whole thing with Jerid is awesome. Enjoyability: Let's put it this way, when I recieved these DVDs in the mail, I popped them in at about 7:00 PM and I was up until 4:00 AM, that's how enjoyable this series is, I could not get away from the tv. If you're a Gundam fine, buy this, immediately. But, be sure to watch First Gundam, 0079, whatever you call it first if you want to better understand why Amuro is so hesitant around Char, and what the big deal of a newtype is. See you for Turn-A!

Perhaps the finest (with the possible exception of "Shaggy Gets His!" - which is to say "Char's Counterattack" for non UK based fans) Gundam of all time. Far more politically vague, socially confusing and personally trying than even the groundbreaking One Year War Saga, Zeta Gundam's groundbreaking qualities still shine through nigh on two decades after the original air date. Nothing about the series seems to have aged, but then again why should it? After all, the concepts dealt with in the story are timeless and, as the show that defined mecha and chara designs for the 1980s, its visuals still stand proud. As for the DVD... Clearly a direct transfer from the recent Japanese release and a nigh on perfect to boot. A few niggling issues (such as chopping out op-end seq on all but disc start and ends and variable quality subtitling) but nothing major. However, the biggest recomendation for this set is the price check. Japanese language only original DVD sets (3 of them) over 650 dollars US. This lovely box from the good peeps at Animeniacs? not even 50! Buy it!

This is the greatest gundam series ever, its verry dramatic with tons of plot twists. The story and space battles are probably the best anime has to offer. Don't get to attached to any of the characters because they will make you love a character one minute and the next time you see the character they wind up dead. This is a verry dark series, no comedy, no goofy deformed facial expressions, its drama from beginning to end. Also if you enjoy this series check out Heavy Metal L-Gaim, its by the same creators.

The story of Zeta is quite possible the best representation of the UC Gundam ideals. Life, Friends, War, and Death. This is a must buy even if your not a serious Gundam fan.
