Hellsing. Violent. Scary. Creepy. And yet...Very Satisfying! Listen up, for 16.00, you get all episodes, extras(yes all images from art gallery), and both Eng&Jap!. Warning. doesn't work well on cheepo dvd's. I'm talking about those portible dvd's people. Works Ok on PS2, But excellent on regular DVD players, Labtops, Computers, etc. So stop the hassle, BUY IT NOW!

4 words: Best Vampire Series EVER! Ok, so the name 'Alucard' IS really common (being Dracula backwards and all) and so what if he IS an ass who is completely full of himself, you would be too if you had lived THAT long, could never die, and had been locked away for so long just to be released by a little girl. It must be REALLY boring to not be allowed to use any of your powers unless facing a powerful enough enemy and such enemies are so few and far between. And since that has been said, I go to the breakdown of my ratings. Characters are good, except that Alucard's persona DOES get a little annoying at times. The story is very good, not as good as X1999 or Saikano (She: The ultimate weapon) but still pretty good. This is my favorite Vampire series for more than just characters and story though, the music and sound effects are great, the visual effects are incredible, and the subtitles aren't all too bad. But back to the visuals: There is nothing I have seen that is cooler than seeing a vampire suddenly shatter into a helluva lot of bats and rejoin his head or stand rigid with tons of knives through him. Face it, working with vampires leaves for a lot of MUCH cooler action sequences, poses, and basically anything visual. Not to mention watching Alucard being torn apart with gunfire. Again, best vampire series I've seen or heard of. Watch, Enjoy, Think, Repeat.

If you're looking for a quick n` dirty anime fix, this is it. Great characters(although I wish they went more in depth into Walter), decent story, and lots of good action that is very properly placed in context to the story. The end comes very abruptly, and doen't give you any kind of resolution whatsoever, but that is a japansese cinema staple. Gotta take the bad with the good I guess. I think someone already said this, but if this had 26 episodes, it could have been something truly great, but instead is just a wonderful little blurb. What do you expect for 21 bucks though :) On the technical side, the video is awesome, with just a few little bits of compression here and there, the sound is great, really comes through nice. The subtitles are a bit lacking, but if you think about it for a bit and use your imagination, they won't pose a problem. Conclusion: You owe it to yourself to buy this.

This is a very nice anime. Sort of a unique Vampire story in my opinion. Subtitles are bad in some episodes...They go way too fast and words are mispelled. The story is nice but kinda leaves you hanging. Hopefully a Sequel will Fix that.

This set was much better than the origional FX set I purchased. The translation was accurate with the occasional spelling error, and the disc design was amzing. I loved this set, but the series kind of just... ends... For all Hellsing Fans, this DVD set is cheap and worth the money. Also, if you like this, prepare yourselves for the second season which should be hitting the market too.

This was a superb anime about an agency named Hellsing that hunts Vampires, Freaks, and Ghouls. The plot was just really cool! Sound quality is superb, same with the video quality. Subtitles were also great as well, with only a very few subtitles that went off screen for a second or two, Overall great! If you like dark anime's then definatly give this one a shot!

The series is about the Hellsing Agency, which is designed to eliminate vampires in england, and thier dealings with the vatican and vampires. The central charactors are a vampire named alucaD, Intergral Hellsing, and a rookie who has become a vampire. Over all this is a great buy.

This is an average anime series. I wasn't disappointed with my purchase nor was I satisfied. I don't really understand what the hype was all about with this series. The story was so so, nothing special. Being that im a huge fan of complex stories such as Evangelion and Lain, ill be the first to say this is no where near as as complex. In fact the story is pretty cut and dry. What may make it seem complex to others is its convoluted story progression. The end of the series seems to come out of no where. If this series had been 26 eps long, it may have had some potential. This series is far from being a favorite of mine. PS the subtitles werent great either, there were alot of mispellings and grammar errors, and alot of he/she mix ups.

This anime rocks. It is great for satisfying your bloodlust and need for gore. But it's more than just that, the characters are great, it goes into it's own cool version of vampires, and their weaknesses, strengths, and all that good stuff. The characters are very bad ass, Alucard the vitually unstopable vampire, Victoria the vampire flegling, Integral at the head of the organization, Walter who seems like just a boring butler or something but is really quite a tough kickass dude. I strongly suggest this to anyone who appreciates a good dark anime.

Video: Good with little bits of artifacting here and there. Sound: Overall average, except at times, the voices can be hard to hear. Subtitle quality: The subtitles, in my opinion, are quite poor. Timing is average, but grammatical and spelling errors make a complex story even harder to follow.

crazy show with vampires and an excellant soundtrack. it's sorta like a jazzy background music. the action and story is awsome, but don't get it if ur into light-hearted, non-violent anime.

Video: There is some barely-noticeable compression on the first disc, as for some really weird reason they decided to put 9 episodes and the textless opening and ending themes on the first disc, and only four episodes on the second. As for the second disc, no problems with the video.

Sound: For this release, the sound is the strongest point. A perfect R2 rip.

Subtitles: The subtitles have a handful of misspellings, the occassional engrish sentence, and strange punctuation. But the translation is pretty accurate, so they deserve points for that. One thing odd, though, is that they used the English names for some characters and the Japanese names for others. Not really a problem, but slightly confusing.

Characters: GONZO strikes again. Arucard, Celes, Integral, Walter, Fergusson, etc. are all distinct and unique. Their idealogies are all very different, as are their designs.

Story: The story is strong, and complex. Not as deep as, say, Evangelion, but still deep enough to draw you in to its embrace and hold you until the end.

Enjoyability: The only problem with the show is the ending. Yes. The ending. Not 'bad' in the sense that it's tragic or negative. More like it's just a poor sense of closure to the series. Alexander Anderson, the paladin who appears in episode 3, makes himself out to be the final villian. He isn't. I won't say who is, but the plot twist late in the series that changes the villian doesn't thrill me. Still, the 'vampires hunting the undead' theme makes up for this.

Final Judgement: If you're a fan of Vampire Hunter D, get this now. If you aren't a fan of D, you might want to see Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust first, as they have a lot of the same themes. If you've seen Bloodlust and still don't like D, don't buy Hellsing. There's a pretty good chance you won't like it if you don't like D.

On the first dvd there are 9 eps and the 4 lastest are on the second one. There is an opening and ending textless as bonus on the first dvd. Image: It's really beautyful, not perfect but almost. :) Sound: Personnaly, i found it great, it's stereo but a nice and clear one. sub: I'm not sure but it's taken from fansub :) On ep 4 and 5, there is a problem with timing. There are small grammar mistakes but you won't have troubles to undestand. Conclusion: Personnaly, i think you will truly enjoy this box, the packaging is really great. The only drawback is this problem of timing in ep 4 and 5 but you will forget it quickly :)

England, Bloodshed, Crisis, Zombies, Artificial Vampires, Catholic Chivalry, Chaos. Salvation... Hellsing, the organization with the secret weapon thats going to save England from total chaos. This title is a "Must Have" for the fan who is looking for a Dark Action packed series. Although in this version the subtitles aren't as perfect as they should be, is very understandable. The story is excellent but the lack of perfection on the subtitles makes it only a little bit confusing. Everything else on this series is excellent or you can say perfect.
